21 May 2005 - Ballet
We went to the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s latest production. It's a triple bill. The first piece was nice; the second I didn’t enjoy at all; but the last piece made the evening a delight.

It's a piece called “A Million Kisses to my Skin”, and it’s choreographed to a J.S. Bach piano concerto. The music is lovely, the choreography excellent and the performances wonderful. What makes it magic, though, is the wonderful sense the choreographer has of the music. The dance is not just good in its own right; it’s perfectly married with the music. Together they make something greater than the sum of the parts.
