16 Apr 2008 - Book launch party! Free champagne inside!

Kimi Productions is delighted to announce the arrival of A Second Chance, the long-awaited [hey, I get to write my own marketing material!] sequel to Promises to Keep.

When I finished Promises to Keep I had no intention of writing a sequel, but I found that the characters would not leave me alone. I wanted to know what happened next! And when I got an increasingly clear picture of just what did happen next, I wanted to write it down. So I let the characters go on living in a spare corner of my mind until I was ready to spend substantial amounts of time writing about them again. A Second Chance is the result.

Some of the things that happen in this book took me completely by surprise, and yet when I go back and look at the earlier book they’re clearly foreshadowed. There are other things that I always knew would happen, long before I planned a sequel, and it’s very satisfying to get them down on paper.

It’s been a delight to get back to these people. And I don’t think I’ll be staying away from them for long.

From the back cover blurb (some of you may just possibly recognise your own words):

A Second Chance is the sequel to Shayne Parkinson’s first novel, Promises to Keep.

From the reviews of Promises to Keep:

“A page-turner!”

“I found this story fascinating.”

“This book sticks with you unlike any fiction book I have ever read.”

“Fabulous book!”

“If you are looking for a story of sacrifice, love, and redemption, this is the trilogy for you.”

The Passing of Mistress Rose - my Tolkien fan fiction

Promises to Keep: a novel set in 19th Century New Zealand.

A Second Chance: the sequel to Promises to Keep.
